Ironwood Trees

So much of what grows here in Hawaii are non-native plants-in other words, not indigenous. It's a double-edged sword. The plus side is that anything and everything grows here. The downside is that anything and everything grows here. One of the non-native trees are the ironwood tree. It grows very well here and the wood is very hard-I think so hard that you don't see woodworkers making things from it.

I mention this tree since the shadow that you are looking at is a branch of the ironwood tree. I will say that it did catch my eye on one of my morning walks. It was as though the tree used the rock as a substrate on which to cast its lacy shadow. Rock art? LOL.

Join us as a group of us (yes-there are many of us!) from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!
