Living on an island means that you find yourself flying a lot more to get from point 'A' to point 'B'. I went to Maui last weekend to visit my son. Took this shot as we were touching down at the Molokai airport. We've had lots of rain recently, so everything is super green-making for a nice contrast to the plane's shadow.

Outstanding capture - the plane may be in the air, but it sits on land too. Very cool capture fro 20 ft or so!
Not a photo you see everyday around here. Lovely shot. Do you find the need to fly restrictive? We have an island off the coast here in South Australia called Kangaroo Island. it is only 20 kilomentres across Backstairs Passage on the ferry, which takes cars. But because of this, despite having travelled multiple times around this state, I've only ever been there twice and they were both in the last ten years. While I'm there, I'm aware that I can't get home without the help of the boat. It is probably me, but I wondered how you tackle that or even encounter it. Does it cost a lot to jump islands like this regularly? The ferry to KI is expensive.
